You'll probably have to give some a miss if you are to finish in time, so route choice is critical. We'll give you a map and an answer sheet. 25-05-2022 Road 10k. A new route starting and finishing at the Oddfellows pub. The route is similar to the current road 10k BUT there are a couple of key things to be aware, here is a bullet point description: 1) Start up the road opposite the oddfellows. Along the standard 10k route to Lockeridge. 2) Go the long way round the triangle at Lockeridge, as per standard 10k route. 3) Carry on as per the standard 10k route. 4) Now it is getting different: Carry on past the turn around point of the standard 10k route. 5) A little further on turn right into Church hill (you will be pleased to know downhill) 6) After just 0.1 of a mile turn left and go through the church grounds to the road. There is a sign that states 'access only', but it is a public footpath. 7) Carry on straight until the end of the road, about 0.2 of a mile (from turning into the church grounds) 8) Turn left, signposted to Lockeridge. 9) Stay on this road (if you're not going uphill you've gone wrong) The road will bend round left a couple of times, but do not take any turn offs. You will pass the point you turned right earlier, #5 10) Back down into Lockeridge. THIS ONE IS KEY: Do not go the long way round the triangle. After turning right onto Lockeridge Dene, take the next left, it is <0.1 of a mile. Signposted NOT SUITABLE FOR HGVS At the top turn left and back to the Oddfellows, finish where you started.

19-07-2023 Miguel's Meandour. Oak tree orientering Don't meet at the MLC. The plan is to meet at the Eight Walks intersection (down Grand Avenue) in Savernake Forest for an Oak tree orienteering run. Use either https://goo.gl/maps/Kx1atRzsunUarFou5 (Google maps) or ///broadcast.choice.untruth (What3Words) for the meeting point but be sure to use Grand Avenue to access (Google maps may suggest other routes that may not be suitable) The map you will be given will have the location of 25 Oak trees that have a sign with their given name. Each Oak tree is worth a set number of points. In your team you must plan to run to the Oak trees in any order you want. You will be required to record the name of it (bring a pen) and take a selfie with the tree sign (remember your phone!). You will have an hour to collect as many Oak tree names as you can. Late backs will be heavily penalised by losing points. Points will be added up to determine who accumulated the most points and the winners may be asked for a review of their selfies. All will be expected to light up their Strava feed with their selfies.
